TRACKED/BLEND “Badlands New Mexico”
New Mexico was one of the most chaotic places I have been. First it started with the 30mph winds and trying to set up camp. I got endless sand in my camping equipment because of it and cooking was tough. I went into the actual park part and got lost because it was so huge. I walked almost 12 miles that day with all my camera equipment and fstop gear backpack. I camped in the BLM land next to the park and hoped I could shoot next to my campsite. Turns out a light from a nearby oil tower was tarnishing most the landscape as you can see in this picture with the heavy shadows and yellow light. I didn’t use a low level panel to illuminate this but I worked with the light. I got lost a couple times as well and couldn’t find a spot to shoot without this light in it. Frustrated I panicked a bit because I couldn’t find any of the spots I had scouted during the day. I got the biggest meteor I have seen in one of my 50mm shots here though and was happy with what I accomplished. Next time I’m going to go into the actual state park and shoot. The skies were extremely dark there and I recommend it to any star chaser.
