Now we all know that I like a pretty sunset! And my feed mainly consists of beautiful beachy sunsets taken on or around my local beaches. 🌅
I’ve always been quite proud of how clean our beaches are, but last week I saw differently. And I want to show you the reality of what I saw. SWIPE across to see the little video that I made!
There was a high tide last week that bought with it a lot of seaweed! That my mum, dad and I painstakingly raked away from the front of our beach hut down on Nefyn beach. 🏖
But I was also seriously shocked by the sheer amount of rubbish that the tide had washed up! I grabbed a couple of bags and started to pick it up! 💔
Whilst I don’t believe that people had actually left the rubbish on the beach, it had somehow found its way into the sea, and finally onto our beautiful Nefyn beach 🗑
I doubt that we even scratched the surface of what we did collect. But what I know is, we must do better! We must reduce the amount of single use plastic, and we must do everything possible to ensure that our rubbish doesn’t end up in our seas and on our beaches! We are lucky enough to have some incredible marine wildlife around these parts, from seals to dolphins, and I can’t imagine that these beautiful creatures could be ingesting our rubbish. 🐬
If nothing else, why not grab a bag and pick up what you see during your next walk? I’m not perfect, but I’m going to try and do more and collect rubbish from the beach when I can! Let me know if you’d like to join me sometime? 🌍
If what you see makes you feel anything at all, please share the video and help drive awareness of this issue!

So agree with you, even if you do just a little, that's still so much more than nothing! ❤️ I lived on an island and sometimes going to the remote places, I always found some rubbish washed ashore. However my boss though me well to always try to collect at least a little bag of it, and even if it's not the most pleasant activity, the happiness and satisfaction you feel after is definitely worth it 😊
Well done )
Listen to the Spaceship Earth podcast, good friend and about getting involved xxx
It's not the rubbish fault, it's the people nothing will ever stop people littering banning plastic won't help it's just the most commen used item used people just throw away, when I was in Wales 2 days ago a car parked with a girl and a boy in it just threw some wipes outside and a MacDonald bag on the street and drove off I was curious, I vote for human extinction!
Such a valid point. I've said it many times on here. We are custodians of this amazing world. Why we choose to ruin everything in it is beyond me? It's common sense surely. "Cause and effect" Our behaviour has devastating effects. This nonchalant attitude mustn't be excepted. Each of have a responsibility to clean as we go. If you carried it there carry it home. Or at least find a bin. You know I adore Morfa Nefyn it's just a real gem of a place. Postcard pretty. You must have been appalled by what you witnessed. But Respect - Not all super hero's wear capes! X
Wonderful sunset. This pic is a great one too.
Seriously, we did last time while discovering a new spot here in Malta..some plastic bags and a couple of glass bottles collected 💪
I love how the blue sea blends with the orange 🔥😍
What a stunning picture, amazing capture 💙
