Mount Everest. This week I had a rare chance to go back through some older images, in this case 2015, and process them for print and other materials. This image got me thinking about my upcoming return to the Himalaya also, and man am I ever excited for that! Last time I went we became some of the first westerners (and perhaps some of the last last) allowed into this valley, at the Kangshung (North) face of Everest, thanks to some good friends with great local connections. I can remember how the locals went to great lengths to get a glimpse of us, such was the rarity and remoteness of our visit. For weeks we trekked on with Yak herders through the high country, adorned on this dry side of the ranges with fall colors up to well over 4500m in altitude. Here Lhotse and Everest rise above, catching the soft morning light in a surreal scene reminiscent of a much lower altitude far away. It was a place I found using paper maps alone and begged them to stop by during our travels, and we we're lucky to enjoy a great view on the second to last morning of our trip.Download image

You nailed it big time. F-22 or higher with a tripod I take it. I like the way everything's in focus
Keep em coming....we love it !
Finally a picture of Everest where you get a true (and beautiful) perspective of Everest and the surrounding valley!😃👍💜
Remarkable shot 👏🏻😍
Amazing work 👌🏻
What a landscape, can't believe this is earth😍
Oh man, that brings back memories. People often ask what my favorite trip has been. I always start off by saying, “well, Tibet is in a category unto itself, so you can’t include it in the comparison.” I think that will always be the case for me. Thanks for that. Have a good on your return!!
This image reminds me somewhat of an old one of yours, from the White Valley on Rainer. Yes, I spend way too much time staring at your work 😊. Now please please please don't tell me about your Himalayan plans 'cause it is not gonna be good for the family bank account 😢.
