As today we released a new stage of the project to the world, it is time to burry an old one. Admit failure in it. Cut a chunk out.
Failure is one of those things that is inevitable if you keep trying to do things. Some of the things you try, will fail. But I am terribly bad at accepting it.
When the CR project was officially launched, the clear goal was to help the global analog community. We have our own thing here in Finland and it works fine, but it won't be enough to sustain much more than the Nordics with good condition film cameras in the coming years. For real change the project needed to help somehow globally.
As I am more or less a millenial, the natural way to help something globally is through creating an app. The app would connect people with different languages and different backgrounds - so that cameras from attics and basements would find their way to use.
Well, it turned out to be a big mistake. Not maybe because the initial idea was flawed, but because of the scale of it. We lost thousands of euros and hundreds of man hours in developing something with a coding partner, just to always have it ready maybe next month.
It was so frustrating using continuosly a lions share of the budget that was allocated for helping the global community forward in this matter, in to work that just was not reaching its goal. We had some bad luck with key people having to drop out at bad timings etc, but long story short the App that was supposed to be ready in January 2018 is still not here.
As we rushed through 2018-19 with also the physical realities of the project here in Finland (bringing everything and everyone under the Rescue Center 600m2 roof, renovating it, finding the work flows and processing over 30 000 cameras) there was only a few hours a week to try to get the app moving forward. It was not enough to understand the scope, but it was enough to linger on to hope that maybe all the work will pay off. It didn't.
So today is the day we call the app dead and a failure. No more app building.
But today is also the day we look into releasing the knowhow we have stored to the world. Check the Bio link to read about the Basic Course.
the to it was of a in we and is but app that with not project bad help have here as enough more cameras today maybe work so be failure out things something community people goal global different you forward for because through finland an - one world globally day ready way just some try would will also i am at hours january rushed supposed bio link short story still building long basic continuosly lions share budget allocated helping this matter reaching etc its had read luck key having drop timings about rescue physical into moving understand releasing scope linger on hope all knowhow pay off didn't look call dead no get week realities renovating bringing everything everyone under center m roof finding few check flows processing over there stored frustrating only using basements month own cr officially launched clear analog our thing accepting works fine won't sustain much than nordics when terribly condition admit released new stage time burry old cut fail chunk those inevitable if keep trying do good film next lost big mistake initial idea flawed scale thousands well euros hundreds man developing coding partner always turned use coming millenial years real change needed somehow or less

Well done Juho you should be commended for all your work so far. Sorry the app didn't work out but an online course sounds terrific. 👌
Good luck guys. Hope you succeed!
Excellent new project. Good luck!
I’m sure we are all here to support you guys. You are making such a beautiful thing for the analog community ❤️🙏🏼
It’s great that you tried something so ambitious though, and at least something has come out of it even though the app didn’t work out. For analogue to have a future, we need a new generation of repair technicians, as a lot of the older guys are retiring and their knowledge needs to be passed on.
Best of luck!! It is as it always have been an amazing and really valuable project! Keep up the great and inspiring work
This is a great idea, sorry to hear about the app. Apps appear like bright, brilliant stars with endless promise but the closer you get, the more most of them turn into a black hole of time and money. Will be supporting your IndieGoGo for sure.📸
You can only do your best. Good luck with next stage!
I will support you Juno!! Your energy and motivation (and resilience) is what is needed to have at least an opportunity on this. Keep it up! 🙏💪
I cannot think of a parallel project. There will be error and mistakes. I believe your vision remains practical and true.
Platforms change, die and move everyday, this is a beautiful project and a great community/ project! all analog people will follow every project regardless keep on 🤘🤘🤘
Really enjoy what you have been doing.....
Well done and good luck for the next phase. Power to you guys
