This week I was backing up all my digital photos from 2019 and came across some old favorites such as this sunset at the end of the year 2000. There were a couple years in the early 2000s when we would welcome the New Year by camping in the 10,000 Islands on the western edge of Everglades National Park. It’s one of the wildest spots in Florida and has been an important source of inspiration and renewal for me. This view is of (or from) Panther Key looking out over the open Gulf of Mexico nearly 20 years ago. Shot on slide film of course back then. The little wave is the boat wake from my brother Travis who was driving by in our boyhood fishing boat. I was annoyed with him at the time but now appreciate the extra moment in the memory. I am thankful for wild places like the 10,000 Islands and the inspiration they provide. Let’s get into the wilds more this year and share our stories. @fl_wildcorridor @pathofthepanther @ilcp_photographers #floridawild #everglades #sunset #keepflwildDownload image

The most beautiful picture that I have seen today! Thank you ❤️
That Travis! 🙄
Very beautiful 💕
The most beautiful sky I ever saw was in the month of January coming across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge as the sun and sky was in full glory. This sky reminds me of that evening sky long ago.
Favorite place in the world! Besides Costa Rica.
Gorgeous. Hoping to keep these beautiful places in Florida pristine 🙏🏻💙
I too love looking back on my photos that I once thought were not what I was going for and remembering that moment with fondness. My favorite part of being a photographer is capturing the moment and looking back at the moment gone by, my photos are a walk back through my life😊
what FL conservation efforts/wildlife groups do you most frequently tell people to support through donations or volunteering?
Just gorgeous! I’ve got to make a trip to 10,000 islands.
Beautiful backlight! 👍👏 🇵🇾
