One of the animals I am most excited to spend time on this expedition is the leopard seal.  A lot of people think they are dangerous, but I have found them to be inquisitive and very smart. While many other species of seals and walruses communicate with each other in aggressive gestures, evidenced by the many scars they get while fighting, leopard seals have a very smooth skin. Could it because they are very good communicators?  When a leopard seal approaches you, it is asking: “who are you and what are you doing here?” You have to understand that humans in the water are not something they see every day and they approach with a mix of curiosity and territoriality. Staying calm and not swimming away is very important as not to trigger an aggressive predator response. The best thing to do is to stand your ground, and let the seal inspect you. I am working with my team @SeaLegacy to support the creation of more marine protected areas in Antarctica.

Como cuando te encuentras con un perro de esos que cuidan la casa pero sin rejas. Nunca correr.

I didn't realize that Leopard seals existed. You learn something new every day. For witch I'm happy since this is a stunningly beautiful creature.
