This morning, The Duke of Sussex joined forces with @gareththomasofficial
and The Terrence Higgins Trust to raise awareness for National HIV Testing Week, which takes place from November 16th-22nd.
The Duke has been a longtime advocate of HIV awareness, and of eradicating the stigma surrounding the virus - an extension of his mother’s legacy. Not enough people know that thanks to the work of so many over the years, HIV is no longer a death sentence and testing for it is quick and easy.
Today the Duke shared the magnitude of having someone like Gareth Thomas, one of our most legendary Welsh rugby players, demonstrate that you can be HIV positive and live a healthy, strong, fulfilling life. Gareth is an excellent role model for anyone living in fear, and an amazing example of both physical and mental strength.
An estimated 1 in 14 people in the UK live with HIV and are still undiagnosed. Please get tested and take control of your life and your health - even if you don’t feel you’re at risk, getting tested will help smash the stigma and normalise it for others.

A handsome Prince.
How did Harry get so handsome?? William was the handsome one in his younger days and now he’s blah
Two great men coming out and working together to spread more awareness about HIV...Thank you so much to Gareth, what a Brave man he is. Firstly for coming out with his story when he did, sadly before he was ready!!! Also for coming out today with Harry and doing their best to bring more awareness to how it’s possible to live and love and enjoy life with HIV.. I too hope that the stigma that Diana, Princess of Wales was trying to take away from HIV for so many years will very soon be a thing of the past. I believe with Men like Harry picking up from where his Mother🌹left off, & Gareth bringing awareness we have a good chance 🙏🏻💙💙🙏🏻
Yes! Harry wears a wedding ring!
Great idea considering their lifestyle.
Great work and keep it up. But the statistic they cite that one in fourteen people in the UK are HIV positive? That would mean over 9 million people. I don’t think this is correct.
35 years old and not an original bone in his body. Get with the programme hazzer. ( love you Gareth)
Errata: surely this should read; of those infected with HIV in the uk 1 in 14 is still undetectex
Well done ❤️
Prince Harry is the best
