During the summer months, the daytime temperatures are too warm to explore moulins and glacier caves in the Swiss Alps. There is simply too much meltwater. However, at night the water freezes and the moulins are all bone dry and safe to enter. Here, a British explorer prepares to descend into a moulin on the Gorner glacier. After recently completing the assignment on Disappearing Glaciers of the Alps, it’s inspired me to go back through my archive and dig out some older photographs that were taken during expeditions to explore moulins on the Gorner glacier in Switzerland. @NatGeoImageCollection #glacier #glaciercave #icecave #climatechange #adventure #exploration #switzerlandDownload image
